Non Epileptic Seizures, Non Epileptic Attack Disorder (NEAD), Functional Seizures, Functional Neurological Seizures are often diagnosed by neurologists when epilepsy is ruled out.  In my experience, dissociative seizures are often experienced with some or many of the symptoms of complex PTSD.

 

 My therapeutic approach therefore, is to first focus on the reduction of the seizures whilst also paying attention to other usually, dissociative, symptoms that are detrimental to the quality of life.  Whilst reducing quantity and severity of the seizures is a primary objective, they are usually only a symptom of an underlying issue that may be broad ranging.
